Hair extensions add length and fullness, and at The Warehouse Salon every extension journey starts with a free consultation where we match your color and choose the method. Weft extensions, move-ups, removal and the consultation are offered at both our DeLand and Fairfield salons, while K-tip extensions are a Fairfield service and custom extension color is a DeLand service.
How does the extension consultation work?
The consultation is free and takes about 20 minutes, and you book it before any install. It is a conversation about what you want: more length, more fullness, or both.
Your stylist looks at your hair, talks through your daily routine and helps you choose the method that fits. They also match color and explain how your install will be priced, so you know the plan before you commit.
- You share your goals and how you usually style your hair.
- Your stylist checks your hair and chooses a suitable method.
- You match the color of the extensions to your own shade.
- You get a clear price for your install and an idea of the time needed.

What types of extensions do you offer?
We offer weft extensions at both salons, and K-tip extensions at our Fairfield salon. Which one is right depends on your hair and your goals, so the consultation is where that gets decided.
Weft extensions are installed in rows, either sewn or beaded in. An install takes about 3 hours. At DeLand, installs are priced per row, and at Fairfield they are priced per full install.
K-tip extensions are individual keratin-tip pieces that give a seamless, natural blend. This is a Fairfield service, and an install takes about 4 hours.
How does color matching work?
Good extensions disappear into your own hair, so color matching is a big part of the plan. At your consultation, your stylist compares extension shades with your natural color and any color already in your hair.
If you need an exact match, our DeLand salon offers custom extension color. This is a service of about an hour that colors the extension hair to match your shade. It is only available at DeLand.
If your own color is changing too, ask about timing. A new hair color appointment before or alongside your install can help everything blend.
How much maintenance do extensions need?
Extensions need regular visits, because your own hair keeps growing and the pieces move down with it. Think of it as a routine that keeps the look neat and keeps your natural hair comfortable.
For weft extensions, the visit is called a move-up. Existing wefts are moved up as your hair grows, and the appointment takes about 2 hours and includes shampoo and styling. Both salons offer move-ups.
For K-tip extensions, a re-tip refreshes the bonds on your existing pieces. It takes about an hour and is offered at Fairfield.
How often you come in depends on how fast your hair grows, the method you chose and how you care for them. Your stylist will give you a rhythm that fits your hair at your install.
What about removal?
When you are ready to take extensions out, we do it for you. Removal takes about an hour at both salons and includes a wash and blow-dry.
Coming in for removal is safer than trying it at home, since the pieces need to be taken out carefully. Some guests remove their extensions and install a fresh set, and others take a break and return later.
How do you care for extensions at home?
Gentle, consistent care helps extensions look good between visits. Your stylist will go over a routine for your specific method and hair.
- Use a gentle hair extension care product chosen for your set.
- Detangle with a soft brush or comb, working from the ends up.
- Brush before bed and keep hair loosely braided or tied back overnight.
- Wash gently and let the hair dry fully before styling.
- Keep heat and rough handling away from the bonds or rows.
Our online beauty store carries brushes, combs and care picks. Ask your stylist which ones suit your type of extension.
Questions we hear about hair extensions
Do I need a consultation before an install?
Yes. We ask every guest to book the consultation first, so the method, the color and the price are set before install day.
How long does an install take?
A weft install takes about 3 hours, and a K-tip install takes about 4 hours. Your stylist will confirm timing at your consultation.
Which salon offers which service?
The consultation, weft installs, weft move-ups and removal are offered at both salons. K-tip installs and re-tips are only at Fairfield, and custom extension color is only at DeLand.
Can I color my extensions?
Our DeLand salon offers custom extension color to match your shade. Ask at your consultation how that fits into your plan.
How much do extensions cost?
Pricing depends on your method and the amount of hair, and your stylist will quote it at the consultation. For current service pricing, see our service menu.
