Ways to Style Short Hair

Jul 5, 2024

Short hair can be incredibly versatile and easy to style, making it a popular choice for many women and men alike. Whether you're looking to add some edge to your look or simply want a low-maintenance hairstyle, there are plenty of ways to make short hair work for you. Here are some styling tips to help you get the most out of your short hair!

Add Texture

Short hair can sometimes look a bit flat and lifeless, but adding some texture can make all the difference. You can achieve this by using a texturizing spray or a dry shampoo to add volume and lift to your roots. You can also try using a curling iron or straightener to create loose waves or curls for added texture and movement. My favorite texture spray for messy and effortless volume is the IGK Beach Club Texture Spray. It not only creates effortless texture and volume, but it smells AMAZING! When using a curling iron make sure to leave the ends out for a textures and beach finish. When using a flat iron you can use a back and fourth motion down the section of hair to create a slight wave or turn the iron slightly for a slight bend. Play With Layers

Short haircuts with layers can add depth and movement to your hair. Layers can also make your hair look fuller and give it more dimension. Talk to your hairstylist about adding layers to your short haircut for a new look. You can have subtle layers for movement or something bolder that will create a lot of texture and shagginess.

Experiment With Different Parts

Changing the part in your hair can completely change the look of your hairstyle. Try parting your hair in the center for a classic look, or on the side for something a bit more edgy. You can also try a zigzag part or a deep side part for a dramatic effect. A side part van give some glam and some great volume to your style. The possibilities are endless!

Accessorize

Accessories can be a great way to add some personality to your short hair. Headbands, hair clips, and bobby pins can all be used to create a variety of looks. For a retro vibe, try a scarf tied around your head or a bandana. For a more modern look, try a statement hair clip or a headband with bold embellishments.

Embrace Your Natural Texture

Short hair often has a natural texture that can be enhanced with the right products. If you have curly or wavy hair, embrace it and use a curl defining cream or gel to enhance your natural texture. If you have straight hair, use a smoothing serum or cream to add shine and control.

Try New Braids & Updos

Just because you have short hair doesn't mean you can't create an updo. Braids, twists, and buns can all be adapted for shorter hair lengths. You can even try a half-up, half-down style for a chic and easy look.

Summary:

Short hair can be just as versatile and stylish as long hair. With a little creativity and experimentation, you can create a variety of looks that suit your personality and lifestyle. So go ahead and embrace your short hair – the possibilities are endless!
