Central Florida's Top Bridal Hair Team: Wedding-Day Hair That Holds from Ceremony to Last Dance
Central Florida's Top Bridal Hair Team: Wedding-Day Hair That Holds from Ceremony to Last Dance
We're the bridal hair team at The Warehouse Salon in DeLand FL, booked out for weddings across Volusia County, Seminole County, Orange County, Flagler County, and Lake County. This is the guide brides have been asking us to write.
Book Your Bridal ConsultationBrides all over Central Florida find us the same way. A friend got married at Stetson Mansion in DeLand and her hair held through a 96-degree outdoor ceremony. Someone's cousin had her bridesmaids styled at a Hammock Beach Resort wedding in Palm Coast and every single photo looked like a magazine shoot. A planner recommended us for a rainy November wedding at The Howey Mansion and the hair still looked crisp when the DJ cued the last song. We're The Warehouse Salon bridal team in DeLand FL, and wedding hair is what our team does best.
We serve brides from DeLand, Deltona, DeBary, Orange City, Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Sanford, Lake Mary, Heathrow, Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Oviedo, Winter Park, Winter Garden, Orlando, Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, Mount Dora, Eustis, and every town in between. Our calendar fills 6 to 12 months out for peak season weddings, and we travel to venues across Central Florida, plus we host trial runs and in-salon styling at our DeLand location.
This page covers what we do, where we travel, what it costs, what happens at a trial run, and how we build wedding hair that actually survives Florida. If you're planning a wedding in DeLand, Sanford, Orlando, Winter Park, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, Mount Dora, or anywhere between I-4 and the Atlantic, we wrote this for you.
Keep reading or skip ahead to the section you need. Every part is built from real wedding days we've worked.
Why Our Bridal Team Is Different
A lot of salons do bridal. Most of them have one stylist who takes the wedding client that walks in, squeezes the trial between a color and a blowout, and figures out the rest on the wedding day. That isn't us. We're a specialty bridal team inside The Warehouse Salon, and every stylist on the team has trained specifically for weddings, not just learned updos on the job.
We've invested in bridal education with some of the most respected wedding stylists in the country. We've sat through classes on veil placement, bridal extension mapping, heat-resistant product layering, and on-site logistics. We've also put in the reps. When you've built hair for 100+ brides across Central Florida weddings, you stop guessing. You know what a low bun looks like after six hours in 95-degree heat at an outdoor ceremony in New Smyrna Beach. You know how salt air behaves at an oceanfront ceremony at Shores Resort in Daytona Beach Shores. You know which products to skip because they get crunchy under photographer lighting.
Here's what also sets us apart. We specialize in Florida hair in Florida conditions. Humidity isn't a theoretical concern for our team, it's the main variable in every wedding we build. We layer products to block frizz at the cuticle, we build structure that anchors through wind, and we pack an emergency kit for every on-location wedding that has saved more updos than we can count.
We work as a team, not a solo act. If your wedding party has eight bridesmaids plus two moms plus a flower girl plus you, we send multiple stylists so no one is rushed and no one is waiting. We run timelines by the minute, we coordinate with your photographer and makeup artist, and we build around your ceremony start so nothing runs late.
And our bridal specialty doesn't stop at classic updos. We build boho braided looks, Hollywood waves, ballerina buns, Y2K half-up crowns, beachy coastal finishes, and sleek low chignons. If you've found a Pinterest photo you love, we've likely built that exact look for another Central Florida bride already.

The Bridal Trial: What Actually Happens
The trial run is where everything gets locked in. Most brides come in nervous the first time. That's normal. Our job is to walk you through it, test styles, take photos, and send you home with a clear picture of what your wedding hair will look like.
A trial run is typically 90 to 120 minutes. You'll wash and dry your hair at home so we can work with your real texture. Bring your veil if you have it, any hair accessories, a photo of your dress, and 2 to 4 Pinterest inspo photos. We'll do the rest.
- Consultation first. We ask about your venue, ceremony time, indoor or outdoor, whether you have extensions, how you want to feel on the day, and what your deal-breakers are.
- Hair history. We look at your hair, talk about color, damage, recent chemical services, and how your hair behaves in Florida humidity.
- Skin tone and dress check. We match the style to your dress neckline, veil, and overall look. A low bun reads different with a strapless dress than with a high-neck lace gown.
- Style test one. We build the first option from your inspo. You live with it for 15 minutes. We take photos from every angle under natural light.
- Style test two (optional). If you're torn between two looks, we can run a second variation. Half-up vs. fully up, side-swept vs. center part, curls vs. waves.
- Product log. We write down every product used, every placement, every technique. This becomes your wedding-day recipe so there are zero surprises on the day.
- Photo set. You leave with a full photo set of your final look. Share them with your makeup artist so they can plan eye and lip colors that balance the hair.
- Book the day-of. Trial clients get first dibs on their preferred wedding date and time block. We confirm everything before you leave.
If you're coming from Orlando, Winter Park, Daytona, or Palm Coast, we recommend booking the trial for a morning slot so you can drive to DeLand, test the style, and drive home with daylight.
Wedding Day Logistics
The day-of is where experienced bridal teams earn their money. On-location styling is a logistics job, not just a hair job. Here's how our team runs a typical Central Florida wedding morning.
Arrival. We arrive 2 to 3 hours before your ceremony start. For large wedding parties we arrive earlier. For a 4 PM ceremony with 6 bridesmaids and a mom, we're usually setting up kits by 9 AM.
Prep kit. Every stylist brings a full kit: curling wands in three sizes, flat irons, blow dryer, brushes, combs, rat tails, 400+ bobby pins, mannequin-grade hair ties, double-prong clips, veil combs, every-color bobby pin matched to the wedding party, holding spray, flexible spray, texture spray, dry shampoo, finishing oil, and emergency items. We also bring extra extensions wefts in common colors in case of a damage situation.
Lighting. Hotel bathrooms have terrible light. We set up our own station near a window or bring our own ring light so colors and depth don't read differently than they will in photos.
Timeline coordination. We coordinate directly with your photographer and makeup artist. Hair and makeup alternate in a calculated flow so each bridesmaid is ready for first look photos at the exact time the photographer needs. We know the standard flow for every major Central Florida venue and adjust when needed.
Bride goes last or second to last. We style the bride toward the end so her look is the freshest. Veil goes on 20 minutes before first look so the photographer can capture the placement moment.
Touch-ups. We do a final touch-up pass before ceremony start. One of our team can also stay for reception touch-ups (flyaway control, pin resets, post-first-dance refresh) as an add-on for longer weddings.
Emergency kit. We've fixed: a broken veil comb 10 minutes before ceremony, a bridesmaid's extension clip that popped, a flower crown that was losing petals, a bobby pin that decided to become visible, a sweat-slicked edge, and a flower girl who decided her braid needed to come out mid-ceremony. We come prepared.
The Florida Wedding Hair Challenge
Florida is the toughest wedding hair environment in the country. We tell every out-of-state client that. Humidity runs 70 to 95 percent most of the year, summer heat climbs past 95 degrees, and half of Central Florida weddings happen outdoors. Add salt air on the coast, afternoon thunderstorms from May through October, and ceremony times that stretch past two hours, and you have a stress test most hair holds don't survive.
Here's what we do differently. We build wedding hair in structural layers, not with more product. A foundation of heat-prep before any tool touches the hair. Then a curl or wave set that's brushed out and re-pinned, not left raw. Then we anchor with ceramic-placed bobby pins that grip the scalp, not just the hair. We seal with a flexible-hold spray that blocks moisture at the cuticle without getting crunchy.
Products our bridal team uses on Florida weddings. We're not sponsored by any of these, this is just what works.
- Moroccanoil Treatment for pre-styling hydration without weighing hair down
- Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil for heat protection on fine hair
- K18 Peptide Prep Mist when damaged hair needs smoothing before build
- Brazilian Blowout Ionic Bonding Spray for frizz blocking during build
- Brazilian Blowout Acai Anti-Frizz Shampoo recommended for pre-wedding wash (2 weeks out)
- Verb Ghost Oil for a weightless sheen under photographer lighting
- Oribe Superfine Hair Spray for touchable, flexible hold
- Kenra Volume Spray 25 for structural lock on updos that need to hold 12 hours
- IGK Beach Club for coastal wedding texture without crunch
- Living Proof PhD Dry Shampoo for touch-ups that don't leave white cast
- Amika Perk Up Plus for oily roots at hot outdoor venues
We also use professional-grade extensions tape and weft clips for brides with clip-ins. If you're planning to wear extensions, bring them to your trial so we can blend and secure them properly. We recommend extensions be professionally installed or tested at least 2 weeks before the wedding, never the week of.
Wedding Hair Styles That Work in Florida
These are the looks we build most often for Central Florida weddings. Each one is adapted for humidity, heat, and long-day wear. Show us a Pinterest board and we'll tell you which of these your dream look fits into.
Soft Romantic Updo
Loose, pinned-up waves with face-framing pieces left out. Feminine and timeless. Holds beautifully in garden ceremonies in Leu Gardens or Bella Collina.
Classic Low Chignon
The wedding hair equivalent of a perfect little black dress. Clean, elegant, works with every dress neckline. Great for Stetson Mansion and black-tie ballroom weddings.
Half-Up Half-Down with Curls
Volume up top, curls cascading down. Bridal without being too formal. A favorite for Winter Park and Mount Dora garden weddings.
Pull-Through Braid
A modern, romantic braid woven into an updo or down the back. Works especially well with flower accents. Our go-to for boho outdoor weddings.
Side-Swept Hollywood Waves
Glam, old-school, photo-ready. Best for fuller hair or extension-assisted builds. Brings serious drama to ballroom venues like Grand Bohemian or Alfond Inn.
Boho Textured Bun
Lived-in, piece-y, intentionally imperfect. Looks effortless on camera. Ideal for New Smyrna Beach, Flagler Beach, and Celebration FL ceremonies.
Ballerina Bun
High, sleek, polished. Modern and editorial. We build these with foundation padding so they hold shape through hours of dancing.
Beach-Wave Finish
Hair left down with airy, broken-up waves. For coastal weddings at Shores Resort or Hammock Beach Resort. We treat it with enough product to fight salt air without looking coated.
Veil-Forward Classic
Structured hair built around a cathedral or chapel-length veil. We place the veil comb deep, anchor with three points, and make sure it reads beautifully when removed at reception.
Central Florida Wedding Features
The following are stylized client highlights based on the kinds of weddings our bridal team works most often. Names are composites, details are real. These are the shape of our wedding book.
Booking Timeline
Here's how we recommend you pace the booking process. The earlier you lock in, the more flexibility you get.
- 12+ months outBook a consultation or intro call. Get on our calendar. Peak season weddings (March to May, October to December) fill first.
- 9 to 12 months outPay deposit and lock in your wedding date. Sign bridal contract. Confirm approximate party size.
- 6 to 8 months outBook your trial run date for 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding. Confirm venue and whether we're on-location or in-salon.
- 3 to 4 months outSend us your inspo photos, a photo of your dress, your veil, and any hair accessories. Confirm bridesmaid count and needs.
- 4 to 6 weeks outTrial run appointment at our DeLand salon. Lock in the exact look, take photos, log products.
- 2 weeks outFinal confirmation call. Final headcount, timeline, makeup artist contact, photographer contact, arrival address, payment.
- Wedding dayWe arrive 2 to 3 hours before your ceremony start. Styling flows on schedule. You walk into first look with the hair you tested and photographed weeks earlier.
Hair Preparation Before Your Wedding
What you do in the 3 months before the wedding matters almost as much as what we do day-of. A few rules from our bridal team.
- Don't cut too close to the date. Get your last trim 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding, not the week of. Fresh cuts behave differently than settled cuts.
- Book a gloss 2 weeks out. A clear gloss or tone refresh gives hair a photo-ready shine and fixes any brassiness from sun exposure.
- Treat damage early. If your ends are stressed, start Olaplex or K18 treatments 8 to 12 weeks out. Don't try to repair fried hair in the final week.
- Keep extensions maintained. If you wear tapes or clip-ins, schedule your move-up appointment 2 weeks out, not the week of.
- Don't try new products the week of. No new masks, no new colors, no DIY toners off TikTok. Stick with what your hair knows.
- Hydrate. Drink water. Scalp and hair reflect hydration.
- Sleep on silk. The week of the wedding, silk or satin pillowcases only. Less friction, less frizz.
- Wash the night before, not the morning of. Day-one-dirty hair holds style better than fresh-washed hair. We'll confirm this at your trial, but 9 times out of 10 we want night-before wash.
Hair Care After the Wedding
The day after is brutal on hair. Hundreds of bobby pins, layers of spray, and a long day of wear will leave your hair in a knot if you don't handle it right.
- Pull pins slowly. Sit in front of a mirror the morning after and remove every pin one by one. Don't rip, don't brush the updo out dry.
- Saturate with conditioner first. Before shampooing, apply conditioner to dry hair, let it sit 15 minutes, then work through tangles with a wide-tooth comb before water hits.
- Avoid heat for 48 hours. Your hair has been through a lot. Let it rest.
- Deep condition mid-week. A hydrating mask 3 to 5 days post-wedding is non-negotiable.
- Save your accessories. The veil, the pins, the comb, the flower piece. Put them somewhere safe. You will want them for your 10-year anniversary shoot, we promise.
- Book your next appointment. A lot of brides come see us 2 to 4 weeks later for a gloss, trim, and full reset. Your hair will thank you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How early should I book my bridal trial?
We recommend booking the trial run itself 4 to 6 weeks before your wedding date. But the bridal slot (date held on our calendar) should be reserved 9 to 12 months out for peak season and at least 6 months for off-peak.
Do you travel to wedding venues?
Yes. We travel across Central Florida including Volusia County, Seminole County, Orange County, Flagler County, and Lake County. We'll come to your hotel suite, venue bridal cottage, Airbnb, or home.
What's your travel radius?
Our standard travel radius is 90 minutes from DeLand, which covers everything from St. Augustine down to Kissimmee and from the Atlantic coast to Clermont. Longer travel is possible for weddings on off-peak weekends with advance notice.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Yes, a travel fee applies based on distance from our DeLand salon. It's quoted at booking so there are no surprises. Short-distance venues like Sanford, Lake Mary, and Daytona have a modest travel fee. Further venues like Mount Dora, Palm Coast, and Orlando carry a bit more. We'll quote exact numbers based on your venue.
What if I have hair extensions?
We work with every type of extension. Bring them to your trial. If they need professional install or refresh before the wedding, we can handle that separately or coordinate with your extension stylist. Do not install brand-new extensions the week of the wedding.
Can you style my mother, bridesmaids, and me all in one morning?
Yes. Large parties are what we do best. For 6 or more services we typically send 2 to 3 stylists. Our largest recent wedding was 12 services in a single morning, on-time for a 3 PM ceremony.
What if my wedding is outdoors in humidity?
Most Central Florida weddings are. We build for humidity by default. We use moisture-blocking products, anchor structurally, and seal with a flexible-hold spray designed for Florida conditions. We can also leave a touch-up kit with your maid of honor.
Do you do makeup too?
Our team focuses on hair. We partner with makeup artists across Central Florida and can refer you to someone whose style matches your vibe. Hair and makeup work alongside each other on wedding morning, coordinated through us.
How does payment work?
A 50 percent non-refundable deposit holds your date. Final payment is due 2 weeks before the wedding. We accept card, Zelle, and bank transfer. Tips can be included with final payment or handled day-of, totally up to you.
What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. If your wedding date changes and we have availability on the new date, we'll move your booking with no penalty. Deposits are non-refundable but always transferable to a new date.
Can you do boho hair, braids, Y2K half-up styles?
Absolutely. Our bridal team builds everything from classic sleek chignons to piece-y boho textured buns to trend-forward Y2K half-up crown looks. Bring your Pinterest, we'll build.
Do you offer full bridal party packages?
Yes. We quote full packages based on party size, service type, location, and date. Most full-package brides save compared to booking services individually, plus the logistics are simpler.
How many stylists will you send?
Rule of thumb: one stylist per 3 bridesmaids, plus the lead stylist on the bride. A 6-bridesmaid wedding gets 2 to 3 stylists. A 10-bridesmaid wedding gets 3 to 4. We scale the team to fit your timeline.
Do you work with LGBTQ+ couples?
Every day. Our team builds wedding hair for brides, grooms, non-binary clients, and wedding parties of every configuration. Love is love, hair is hair, and we're here for all of it.
