Why Millburn Clients Choose Us for Extensions

A lot of our Millburn clientele come from the Wyoming and Old Short Hills neighborhoods. They're moms, attorneys, executives, and a steady flow of women getting ready for milestone events at the Millburn Short Hills JCC or weddings on the Jersey Shore. What they have in common is they've already been around the block on extensions, and they're done with bad blends.

We don't sell every client the same method. The biggest mistake we see in extension work coming out of north Jersey is one-size-fits-all. Tape-ins for everyone, or hand-tied wefts for everyone. Real extension work starts with reading your scalp, your density at the temples and crown, your color, your lifestyle, and your hair history. Then we match the method.

Millburn clients usually book a free consultation first, take the printed quote home, and come back two weeks later for the install. No pressure, no upsell. The work speaks for itself.

Bond-Building Built In

Olaplex and K18 work into every install. Your natural hair stays as healthy as the extensions look.

What Makes Our Extension Work Different

The Consultation Comes First (Always Free)

Bring photos of what you want and one photo of what you don't. We'll tell you whether the look you want is realistic for your density and how long it'll take to grow into it. Color match happens in natural light at the front of the salon. You leave with exact pricing.

Cut and Blended Like It's Your Own Hair

Every install ends with a dry cut. We sweep your natural hair down through the wefts and cut a soft, layered blend so the install reads as one head of hair. If we don't blend it, we don't release you.

Color Matched in Natural Light

Color matching happens in front of natural windows, not under salon LEDs. We custom-blend rooted, ombre, lived-in balayage, and gray-coverage matches. If you came in with babylights, your install will have babylights.

Maintenance That Actually Maintains

We pre-book your move-up appointment before you leave. Most Millburn hand-tied clients run on a 7-week cadence. Tape-ins reset at 6. We text 4 days before to confirm.

Extension Methods We Offer

Hand-Tied Wefts

From $800

The high-end choice. Sewn into beaded tracks. Most natural-looking, longest-lasting (9-12 months with maintenance), most comfortable. Our most-requested method.

Tape-In Extensions

From $400

Installed flat against the scalp with medical-grade adhesive. Easy to apply, easy to remove. Lasts 6-8 weeks before reapplication. Great entry point.

Fusion / Keratin Tip

From $900

Individual strands bonded with keratin. Best for thick, coarse, or curly hair. Lasts 4-6 months with proper care.

Clip-In Extensions

From $250

Common Questions

Which method is right for my hair type?

Fine to medium hair: hand-tied wefts. Coarse, curly, or very thick hair: fusion. Anyone wanting an entry-level commitment: tape-ins. We'll match you in the consultation.

Will hand-tied wefts damage fine hair?

Not when sized to your density. We use micro-beads on fine hair and place wefts where your natural growth pattern can carry the weight. Damage almost always comes from oversizing.

How long does my first appointment take?

Plan for 3 to 4 hours including cut, color match, install, and blend.

Can you match my balayage exactly?

Yes. We custom-tone and hand-paint when needed.

How often will I need to come back?

Every 6 to 8 weeks for hand-tied. Every 6 weeks for tape-ins. Every 4 to 5 months for fusion.

Can I swim and work out?

Yes. Tie hair up before workouts. Rinse out chlorine immediately after swimming.

Can I sleep on my stomach?

Yes. Use a silk pillowcase. Brush before bed.
