Texture Spray vs Hairspray, What is the Difference?

Jul 5, 2024

Hey, gorgeous! If you've ever found yourself wandering down the haircare aisle, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the multitude of products, you're not alone. Today, we're diving into the world of styling with a spotlight on two hair essentials: Texture Spray and Hairspray. What sets them apart? Let's break it down and help you choose the right product for your luscious locks.

Understanding Texture Spray:

Texture spray, the unsung hero of effortless styling, is all about creating that perfectly undone, lived-in look. If you're aiming for those beachy waves, tousled curls, or a messy-chic bun, texture spray is your go-to companion. It adds grip and volume to your hair, making it easier to style and holds your chosen look in place without the stiffness associated with traditional hairspray.

Think of texture spray as the magic wand that gives your hair that touchable, natural movement. It's like a breeze at the beach – light, airy, and oh-so-sexy.

My personal fav is the Alluram Dry Texture Spray

Hairspray: The Guardian of Hold:

On the other side of the styling spectrum, we have the classic hairspray – the guardian of hold and structure. Hairspray is your steadfast ally when you want your hairstyle to stay put, no matter what. Whether it's a sleek updo, a polished ponytail, or defined curls, hairspray is there to lock in your look and resist the forces of wind, humidity, and time.

Hairspray provides a firm hold without compromising on flexibility. It ensures your hard work in styling pays off, keeping your hair in place throughout the day or night. Think of it as your style's trusty bodyguard, standing strong against the elements. Here are my goto hairsprays:

Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray  (Medium Hold) - This is a versatile hairspray good for all hairstyles. There is no crunch or grit and there is argan oil that helps provide nourishment and shine!

Kenra Volume 25 Hairspray This is my favorite higher hold spray that does not feel gritty or crusty in the hair! It smells amazing, and holds your style all day!

Finding the Right Balance:

The real secret lies in finding the right balance between texture spray and hairspray. They can be a dynamic duo, working together to give you a hairstyle that's both natural and resilient. Start with texture spray to create the foundation of your look, adding volume and texture. Once you've achieved the desired style, lock it in with a mist of hairspray to ensure it stays flawless from dawn to dusk.

Experiment, have fun, and remember – there are no strict rules in the beauty game, only guidelines. Find the perfect balance for your unique style, and let your hair speak volumes about your personality.

Until next time, stay beautiful, stay confident, and let your hair do the talking!
