  • Simple Luxury Hairstyle Inspiration

    Sep 11, 2024by Brianna Thompson

Simple luxury hairstyles prioritize polished, understated elegance over trendy or elaborate looks. They focus on clean lines, healthy shine, and effortless sophistication. These styles work because they're versatile enough for professional settings while remaining refined for special occasions, all without requiring constant maintenance or touch-ups.

Hi, I'm Jennifer Lopez, and in my 20+ years at The Warehouse Salon in Fairfield, NJ, I've learned that the most requested looks aren't the complicated ones. They're the styles that make you look put-together without looking like you tried too hard. That's what luxury really means in hair: healthy, well-cut, and beautifully maintained.

    The Sleek Low Bun

This is probably the most timeless updo in existence, and there's a reason it never goes out of style. A sleek low bun screams sophistication without being fussy.

How to get the look: Start with clean, smooth hair. Apply a small amount of Milk Shake No Frizz Glistening Serum ($32) through mid-lengths and ends to eliminate flyaways and add shine. Brush everything back smoothly and secure at the nape. Wrap and pin. For extra hold, a light mist of hairspray finishes it off.

Best for: Weddings, work events, date nights. We do this look constantly at the salon for clients heading to events across North Jersey.

    The Lived-In Blowout

Nothing says luxury like hair that moves. A blowout that looks naturally full and bouncy (but not stiff) is one of the most requested services at our Fairfield salon.

How to get the look: After washing, apply Milk Shake Lifestyling Blow-Dry Primer ($26) to damp hair. Blow dry in sections using a round brush, rolling away from the face. Once dry, shake it out with your fingers for that "I woke up like this" volume. The key is not to over-curl. You want bend and body, not ringlets.

Best for: Everyday luxury. This look works for the office, brunch, a night out. It just makes you feel good.

    The Glass Hair Look

Glass hair is ultra-smooth, ultra-shiny, and perfectly sleek. It's that "my hair is so healthy it literally reflects light" look. We've seen this trend everywhere from Instagram to the red carpet, and our clients love it.

How to get the look: It starts with the right products. Use Hot Like Me Sheer Glass Coat ($24.96) for that mirror-like finish. Blow dry straight with a paddle brush, then go over with a flat iron in smooth, slow passes. The shine comes from healthy hair and the right finishing product.

Best for: When you want to make a statement. Glass hair is a head-turner.

    Soft Hollywood Waves

Old Hollywood glamour never gets old. Think Veronica Lake, but updated for 2026. These are structured waves with a smooth, glossy finish.

How to get the look: Set hair with a 1.25-inch curling iron, always curling away from the face. Clip each curl to cool. Once cool, brush through gently with a boar bristle brush. Apply a finishing spray or a light serum like Milk Shake Argan Glistening Oil ($34) for that red-carpet shine.

Best for: Galas, weddings, holiday parties. We get a ton of requests for this look during wedding season here in Fairfield.

    The Effortless Textured Bob

Short hair can absolutely be luxury. A well-cut bob with just the right amount of texture looks modern, chic, and incredibly polished.

How to get the look: The cut matters most here, so work with your stylist. For styling, apply Shibui Texturizing Mist ($24) to dry hair and scrunch lightly. You want movement, not mess. A tiny bit of pomade on the ends adds definition.

Best for: The low-maintenance person who still wants to look polished. This is hugely popular with our North Jersey clients.

Why Healthy Hair Is the Real Luxury

Here's what I tell every client: the most luxurious thing you can do for your hair isn't a specific style. It's keeping it healthy. No amount of styling can compensate for dry, damaged, or over-processed hair.

That means regular trims, the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type, consistent deep conditioning, and using heat protectant every single time. At The Warehouse Salon, we build maintenance plans into every service because we want your hair to look amazing long after you leave the chair.
